The NUK !

I always said my children would not have nuks (pacifiers) I disliked the look of a baby with a plastic plug in their mouth. I'd rather have a thumb sucker any day!

But God has a way of making me eat my words. While David was in the hospital we made the choice to give him a pacifier in the hopes it would help him learn to suck and he would be able to lach on and nurse soon/better. Well, after returning home I found excuses not to "throw" out the plastic plug, it was nice on drives, it worked wonders in church, the grandmas really liked to have it while babysitting . . . all in all the truth be told I had become dependant on the nuk to keep David quiet when I didn't want him to be loud.

All seemed well and good, I told myself (and unfortunatly others) that when the "free" nuk from the hospital (is any thing they give you there really "free" ?) was gone, whether that be lost, stolen or otherwise, it would be gone for good - I wasn't going to buy one and it would be the perfect opportunity to ween David of it.

Again I would eat my words.

One fatefull Saturday, we went to visit my parents.

Mom and I went garage saleling for a while, leaving David at the house in the charge of my younger sisters. When I returned David, poor baby, was more than ready to nurse and was only being held off by being rocked by his Aunt Faith and sucking on his ever faithful nuk. Well to make a long story short I nursed him, and later that evening we prepared to leave . . . but were was the pacifier? It was not to be found (and still has not been now several weeks later) So I thought, "well I guess it's pacifier weening time!"

On the drive home David got fussy, and I wished for the nuk. That night as we watched a movie and David started to fuss I wished for his nuk. And most certainly the next day in church when the poor little guy would NOT be happy did I most heartily wish for that nuk!

As I walked with him in the back of church I noticed the lost-and-found box sitting in a corner - there right on top sat a NUK! Oh' how I longed that it was mine. I continued to pace with my unhappy child, each time I passed that box I grew more envyous of whomever that nuk belonged to. Finally as David REFUSED to be comforted and as I was at the end of my rope, my longings became to intense and I made my choice. I would borrow the lost-and-now-found nuk. I took it to the kitchen and washed it really well. And then popped it into Davids mouth . . . he LOVED it, even better than his old nuk, I was hooked. When I was told after church to keep the nuk as the lost-and-found items were rarely claimed and were destined to soon make a one way trip to GoodWill I couldn't resist. And that is why, my friend, we again have a nuk in the house!

SING!!!!!!!!

They say that when your happy your heart will "sing". Well i've decided that is the only thing of mine that should ever sing!

Last night my darling and adorable son decided that sleeping was just to hard. Being awake in the middle of the night is just sooooooooo much more fun! After all, mom really doesn't need any sleep. Sleep is highly overrated, right?!!?!?!?!? Well I didn't really think so, especially since I had a good friend comming over today so I actually had to get up and get looking decent this morning. I really wanted a good nights sleep!

David not only decided to be awake, but also to scream. Now keeping me up was bad enough but I really didn't want him to keep Stephen awake since he had to get up early for work. I decided to try singing to my sweet baby - that's supposed to help right?

He was quiet at first (no doubt trying to determine if this new sound he heard was friendly or not) But upon further continuation of the "noise" he seemes to have come to the conclusion it was horrible - for he started crying again lounder than ever. My rendition of all the parts of differant hymns that I could remember was obviously not very soothing. Perhaps it was because the tunes all ran together into a kind of dull droning, something like a sick cow or a angry duck.

So today after much thought I've decided singing is not for me. If my infant son can't even stand it no doubt the rest of the world would rather do without.

But for now I must run - my son is singing his own song - not exactly beautiful but effective! "I'm hungry mom - come feed me NOW"

Until next time - "The musicless mother"

"Hearts Desire"
For a while now i've been working on a story/book. I've always loved writting and wanted to write a book and so a bout two years ago I started this one, it's been rather slow going and i'm not sure how original or how "good" it is. So I thought i'd put a small portion on here and see what you folks think of it - please any one who reads this silly blog comment!

“Finally, it’s over!” Brielle sank onto her bed, enjoying the solitude and quiet that the security of her room provided. Graduation was over, done, a thing of the past. Now for some quiet, away from the questions - the constant enquires of “So now what are your plans?” “What are you going to do with your life?”

Brielle’s quiet moment was interrupted by the “dadadada dum” of her cell phone. Rummaging through her every overflowing purse she pulled out the annoying electronic distraction and pushed “talk”, to be greeted by Katie on the other line.

“Hey, Hon’” Katie’s exuberant voice held all the energy Brielle felt she instinctively lacked.

“Hey Katie, how was your grad party? So sorry I couldn’t make it.”

“It was amazing, oh’ my, I’ve gotta tell you about this guy I met today”

Brielle rolled her eyes and tried to act interested in Katie’s newest “hottest-guy-ever” description.

“His name is Kyle and he is AMAZINGLY good looking, but better than that, he’s an amazing man of God! I only had the chance to talk to him for about 2 minutes, he came with my cousin Chuck to my party, but Chuck was telling me about Kyle’s ministry project . . . oh’ Bri, he’s perfect, do you think he could be “The One”?”

Brielle took a deep breath before answering; she had had this conversation with Katie so many times. “Kat, I know you think he’s the greatest guy on God’s-green-earth, and he probably is pretty amazing”

“Oh’ Bri you have noooooooooooo idea!” Katie squealed.

“Yeah, sure, but you still have to guard your heart. You can’t go falling in love with a guy you’ve only met once in your life.”

“But Bri, he’s sooooooo perfect. He’s exactly the kind of man you and I have talked about so often.”

Brielle carefully thought about her words before responding, she knew Katie was “in the clouds”, again. It seemed every time she met (or even saw) a good looking, single, Christian guy she was sure he was “The One”. After a short pause Brielle gathered her courage and tried to reason with her friend,

“Kat, you know you mean the world to me and I want you to find the right guy, almost as much as you want to find Mr. Right. But even if this Kyle is “The One” you still have to guard your heart. It’s wrong to give away parts of your heart, even to the right guy, before the right time. If he is the right one he’ll understand, love and appreciate your commitment to waiting for the right, God given, time to show your emotions and bestow him with the gift of your heart.”

The long silence on the other side of the phone made Brielle wonder if Katie was mad at her, or if perhaps she had lost phone service and dropped the call. “Katie, you still there?”

“Yeah, I know your right Bri. It’s just so hard not to think about the future and wonder who it might hold. What if I know him right now? I mean, I agree you should guard your heart and all that, and I defiantly don’t want to give pieces of my heart to the wrong guys, but how do I know if I’m giving away pieces of my heart? Is it even ok to think about guys, a little? Can’t I even wonder if maybe he is Mr. Right? Why does God give us girls “crushes” and stuff like that if we are just supposed to ignore them? It just doesn’t make sense! I’m so confused.”

Brielle stared out the bedroom window, all the question her heart had been asking her mind were suddenly hanging there in the air before her, waiting to be answered. How was she supposed to answer Katie’s question? She couldn’t even answer these questions for herself.

“I don’t know Katie. I just don’t know.”

A sigh and silence followed. “But, I do know that we don’t have to be confused, we need to follow God and seek to serve him. If we strive to follow him we can never be truly confused. Maybe a little unsure about a certain situation but in the long run it’ll all be work out for our good. Follow the Lord and let him work out the details. A lot easier said than done, that’s for sure!”

“Yeah. Well thanks Bri. I really needed your little lecture, oh’ better run, mom’s calling. Bye, bye!”

As Brielle hung up her phone and turned to the solitude of her room she was, once again, painfully reminded of the fact that she, too, had no one. Her mind traveled back to earlier that morning at her graduation open house, her grandmothers words still rang like a never ending gong in her ears:

“So Brielle, are you going to go to college this fall?”

“No, I don’t think so grandma.”

“What are you going to do then? Do you have ideas for a job?”

“Well right now, I’m just planning on staying home and helping mom with house work and the boy’s school. And if needed, I’d like to be available to help out other families who could use an extra hand around the house.”

“Brielle, you really need to think about your future, honey. You need to get an education; you aren’t going to be able to follow your dreams and make your place in the world if you just sit at home and live off your parents!”

Grandma looked exasperated at Brielle’s apparent lack of forethought and spoke in a high-pitched and frustrated voice, it was obvious she thought Brielle’s plan for the coming year was down-right-stupid.

Brielle took a deep breath and sent up a silent prayer for wisdom before answering, “Well, you know grandma; all I’ve ever really wanted to do with my future is be a wife and mother. And what better way to train for that than spending time with other wives and mothers and learning from them?”

Grandma looked shocked at Brielle’s “obvious” lack of sense, “Brielle! What are you saying? Don’t you realize you have no guarantee you’ll EVER get married. What if you don’t? Are you just going to live off your parents for ever? And even if you do, is it really fair to expect some man to provide for you while you sit at home and do nothing? Most families can’t make it on one income any more, dear; it’s only fair that the women work too. You really need to think about your future.”

It was pretty clear that grandmother was NOT going to understand Brielle’s point of view. But she couldn’t just come out and tell her, “Oh’ you’ll never understand my beliefs, so I’m not going to even try to understand yours.”

With a weary sigh and an ache in her heart Brielle had promised her grandmother she would think and pray about what she had told her. Grandma hardly looked impressed and with a few more admonishments to not “waste” her life and to not “depend” on men all her life she had moved on to get some food and talk to other family members and friends.

Election Day

Tomorrow is election day. This year I have had more stomach churning, nerve racking, mind aching thoughts of our countries future than ever before. I've always loved my country, and I always will. I've always believed in civic participation, and I always will. But this year I CAN'T believe in what my country has become, or who she will elect. I dont' know WHO will be elected, but I know that i cannot believe in either major canidate.

I have struggled with the thought of how to vote. The lesser evil? or the Greater good? You may ask, "is there a greater good?" How hard have we tryed to provide one? Is it stupid to vote for any party other than the main political dynasties? But perhaps a better question is, how often is "right" logical? I cannot vote for someone who I believe kills babies and will violate our rights as Americans, no mater how much the other canidate my do so more. It would be, to me, like voting for the murderer of one inocent person rather than the one who murdered 20. They BOTH are EVIL.

What are our options you may ask. The answer is neither clear nor easy. But I KNOW it is also not JOHN MCCAIN.

It says in God's holy word that, "Blessed is the nation whose GOD is the LORD." Our nation was founded on God as our Lord, and for that it was (and in many ways is still) truelly blessed. But our nations foundations have crumbled, and the Psalmist writes, "If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?" The answer again, is neither clear nor simple, but my beliefe is we can neither do nother, nor comprmise. Wars are not won by allowing the enemy to "win a little" (so they wont' take it all) evil will NEVER stop unless WE stop it.

If the foundations are destoyed we must rebuild them, from the ground up. We must be willing to take the hight ground. Push aside the rubble (we cannot build a strong foundation on rubble and ruin) and start from the ground up. That my not be with an election. But with our neighbor, our children, our relatives. Our countries problems are NOT lack of moral political leadership, althought that is certainly lacking, but rather lack of regard for God in the citizens of this once great country. The way our founding fathers set up the govermental structure of this country was such that it will ALWAYS reflect the hearts and morals of the people.

Think about that. Untill the people turn to God the government never will.

I don't know what each of you will do this election, and really its' none of my business. The next president we get will be the president we, as a country, deserve. Sad as that may be. As for me, today I choose to make the desicion to make an effort to turn the heart of our nation back to it's roots, and to the LORD as our God. I will vote. But not because I really believe it will make a numerical differance in this election, rather as a gesture that I still believe our country can return to God and his grace. My prayers go out for our nation, for our people who are fast headed towards judgment and destruction. I serve a great and merciful and God and he alone can turn the tide.

Blessings.

Our Wedding Pictures (At Last :-)

Well I've been told I "have to" update my blog - so sorry for the few of you who actually take a peak here every now-and-again, that i've been so lazy in my blogging!

Well here are some pictures from our very SPECIAL day! In a way my wedding day seems like a dream, a half reality that is but a foggy memory of the past, almost unreal and yet so so very real! It was a beautiful day! How often can you get married the end of Feb. and have pictures taken outside without freazing? We were very blest!

But I was and am even more blest by my amazing husband! He truely is the love of my life! Married life is amazing and I wouldn't trade it for any thing!
We had a wonderful road-trip/Honeymoon down to Florida - I'll try to get some pictures of that up here in the not to far off future . . . but we dont' have a whole lot as "someone" made us fall in the pool in Florida, fully clothed, with the camera in "his" pocket - so00000000000000 not a whole lot of pictures after that :-)

But all-in-all it was an amazing experiance! I LOVE being in love :-)

I'm An Aunt ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Mathias John Froemming . . .

Entered all of our lives at 4:00 am, Saturday January 12th, of 2008.

He is beyond adorable, perfect in every way.

Being an aunt is more amazing and neat than I ever expected! I'm so happy :-) And I know Rian and Whittney are even more thrilled than I am.

Even though Mathias is deftly stealing
all my thunder (who cares about wedding plans when there's a new baby in the family!) I love him, and want to spend every minute holding him, and marveling in his perfectly formed little body.

God is so amazing.

Who else, but an everlasting, eternal God could have, or would have, thought up something so miracules as a baby.

How can any body ever hurt such a precious little one. Now, like so often before, i'm reminded of how and why babies and children are so precious to God.

He is the father of the fatherless, and the defender of the helpless.

The Saga of Prince Robert and Maiden Matilda
By:
Lydia Froemming, Kristina Becker, Ruth Froemming, Kaitlyn Becker, Faith Froemming and special guest appearance by Stephen Jorgensen

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Once upon a time, in a beautiful valley by a sparkling river; there lived a gorgeous maiden. She had light brown hair and beautiful green eyes.

Handsome Prince Robert was in search of a beautiful maiden. So he went to a ball to seek this beautiful maiden.
The night of the ball came clear and bright with a thousand stars sparkling in the midnight sky. Maiden Matilda was more excited than she had ever been before as she prepared for the ball.

But she could not go to the ball for she had nothing to wear, and she had been so excited. She had been looking forward to seeing the prince, but, alas, she could not go.

Finally, at the last minute, a dress arrived at her house, she was so excited that she could go to the ball. When she reached the hall the prince was smitten with her. He knew he loved her from then on. And falling to his knees he begged her to marry him and make him the happiest man in the world.

Matilda smiled, and paused in hesitation . . . “but” she said, “I do not know you, and well, err, I’m so sorry! You see my mother needs my help with, well, everything! I have 15 brother you know, 4 sets of twins.

“But you have to marry me, I would be lost without you!” Prince Robert exclaimed in anguish.

Then Maiden Matilda said, “I will think about it and give you my answer within the week”

She thought and thought about it, but already deep down in her heart she really knew she loved him.

But, then, what of Terrible Tom the baker? She had been promised to him as a bride since she was three. Oh’ what to do! She decided to go talk to terrible Tom. When she got to Terrible Tom’s bakery he asked her to marry him and she didn’t know what to do.

In that instant she relixed that she loved Prince Robert with all her heart, “NO! I cannot for my heart belongs to another” was maiden Matilda’s reply.

She looked sadily down at her hand, and there on her finger was a pink, green, and yellow ring made of daisy chain and speaking loudly of the man she detested. Oh’ what was maiden Matilda to do!?

She loved Prince Robert, but Terrible Tom made such good donuts she started to love him too, what to do. But she knew she could not love him for his donuts, and she also knew she loved Prince Robert, but she was promised to Terrible Tom, and the only way she would not have to marry Terrible Tom was if Prince Robert rescued her.

So prince Robert came to her and she told him what would happen. He took her to his castle and she stayed there, hidden in the tower, until their wedding day. On their wedding day Terrible Tom came and tried to take Maiden Matilda, “Oh’ Robby! I am yours and you are mine!” Maiden Matilda happily said, and they were pronounced husband and wife. But then disaster struck, or was it Terrible Tom. Rob lay there on the floor paralyzed.

Maiden Tilly cried, “Oh’ Tom! How could you” and leaning over kissed her beloved Rob – instantly he jumped to his feet fully recovered swept her into his arms and carried her off to his castle. And there they lived . . .

Not that You Died

~ Legacy Five ~

Familiar words so often seen

That precious truth...John 3:16

You loved the world,

You offered grace and what leaves me most amazed is ....

Not that You died for the whole world

that humbles my heart, brings me to my knees

Not that you died for the whole world

But Lord that you died for me

With trembling voice I confess

Your redeeming love my unworthiness.

That cruel cross, the nails the spears

Yet mercy flowed, I'm moved to tears...

Not that You died for the whole world

that humbles my heart, brings me to my knees

Not that you died for the whole world

But Lord that you died for me

HAVE YOU EVER JUST STOPED AND THOUGHT ABOUT THE AMAZING LOVE THAT NAILED CHRIST TO THE CROSS? NOT HIS LOVE FOR THIS WORLD - BUT RATHER HIS LOVE FOR YOU. YEAH, YOU, SINNER THAT YOU ARE. DON'T TRY TO DENY IT - YOU KNOW YOU HAVE DONE ALL MANNER OF EVIL - WHETHER IN ACTION OR ONLY IN YOUR MIND. WE ARE ALL EVIL, "DESPERATLY WICKED". AND CHRIST DIED FOR YOU. EVEN IF YOU WERE ALL THAT THERE WAS IN NEED OF SALVATION AND A SAVIOR - EVEN IF THE REST OF THE WORLD WAS PERFECT AND WORTHY OF HEAVEN, STILL CHRIST WOULD HAVE COME, SUFFERED AND DIED FOR YOU.

WHEN I THINK OF THAT, WHAT HE HAS DONE FOR ME, I WANT TO SIT DOWN AND CRY - I WANT TO GO OUT AND SOME HOW PROVE MY GRATITUDE AND COMMITMENT TO HIM. SHOW MY THANKFULNESS FOR HIS SAVING MERCY AND GRACE.

AND YET I FAIL.

AS SOON AS HE SENDS ME TEST, ASKS ME TO SACRIFCE FOR HIM, STAND FOR HIM, OR EVEN SHARE HIS LOVE WITH ANOTHER LOST AND DIEING SOUL - I CRING AND ASK HIM "ARE YOU FOR REAl?' THATS TO HARD!

WHO AM I KIDDING?

I AM A CHICKEN. NOT WORTHY OF ONE DAY IN HEAVEN LET ALONE AN ETERNITY THERE. WHY CAN'T I SHARE THAT WITH OTHERS? WHY CAN'T I SEE PAST MY SELFISH PRIDE AND BREAK THE UNCOMFORTABLE SILENCE. SHARE THE LOVE I DON'T DESERVE - AM I SO SELFISH THAT I CAN'T EVEN SHARE THE GREATEST NEWS IN THE WORLS WITH ANOTHER LOST AND DIEING SINNER?

"LORD, MAY I LIVE A LIFE FULL OF YOU, SO I'M SO WEAK AND HELPLESS THAT YOU CAN WORK THROUGH ME TO BRING HONOR AND GLORY TO YOUR MIGHTY NAME."

I know probably nobody even reads this blog thingy. But for those of you random people who might stumble upon it (and for posterity) I will update the world on "My Wonderful Life".
This last year has been so full and fabulous I havn't posted much - so i'm gonna play some MAJOR catch up right now!!!!!!!!!!
March/April
I suffered from a major crush on a youge man from our church. I struggled with how to respond to a wonderful man I knew I would love to marry and spend the rest of my life with - only problem was i was entirely commited to allowing God to plan and orchastrate this area of my life. I wanted so badly to show initiative and get "something" started - but God had another plan. And so instead I learned patience and to trust God.
May
Mom and dad took me into their room one evening and told me that Stephen (the guy I had a crush on) had been meeting with dad and had asked for permission to court me! I can't even begin to put into words the joy and wonder i felt at this news! My God had a bigger plan I could never have imagined!
June
Time goes by quickly! June saw our family take a trip to Texas for Nationals and Rian and Whittneys wedding.
November
Yeah, skipping ahead again, I know! November saw me determined to NaNoRiMo (National Novel Writting Month) the idea is you challenge your self to write a 500,000 word novel in one month. Yeah right! I quite after 15,000 words - I know i'm a quitter. Sorry :-)
The 11th was more than the most beautiful day of the year for weather it was also the day that Stephen proposed - yep thats right - he took me for a walk and then when my back was tured got down on his knee and when I tured back around he took my hand, for the first time (we had agreed on having no physical contact during courtship. In so many ways it became a beautiful reason to find ways other than physical touch to express our growing love for eachother. As well as a way to gaurd against temptation.) and so any way . . . after a very romantic speech I told him i'd marry him (he made the romantic speech, I just said "yes" and took the ring)
So that's my life - all caught up to date.
We are working on wedding stuff - with alot of Christmas and baby planning as well (Whittney is due to have my nephew January 2nd)
The wedding is set for February 23rd, and neither Stephen or I think it can come soon enough.
I always new i served a God who made dreams come true - i just never imagined something as wonderful or as beautiful as this.
I know i dont' deserve such blessing or such an amazing guy. But than on the same hand I also know i don't deserve the love and mercy that nailed my savior to a cross and bought my eternal salvation. As Christmas draws near may we all remember that but for the babe in the manger who would grow up to be the perfect lamb upon the cruel cross, we would be nothing but lost miserable sinners heading towards our just reward in a place of eternal torment and misery. How can we ever thank HIM enough for all he's done?
Christmas blessings to you all. My prayers is that this Christmas season you will grow closer to your heavenly savior and if you dont' know him personaly that you will discover him for the very first time and begin the journy of a lifetime. What better time to turn your life over to the savior of the world, but at the celebration of his birth!
In Christ ~ Lydia

The Heart of a River

My heart is like a river flowing to the sea, caught on every bend, delayed by every tree
Open up your eyes catch a glimpse of me, fighting like a fool to find eternity
Swing around the next bend, see what you shall find, another shallow hole, another loss of time
Cast by winds of doubt hit by rains of pain, can I even begin to find the truth that you now claim
Am I making headway? Can you even doubt, the pain that I am now feeling it makes me want to shout
My heart is heavy and hurting, my eyes are growing dim, this race that I am running, does it really lead to Him
Can this journey onward really be the way, perhaps I’m lost and lonely because I’ve lost my way
When I see a smile, or hear a word of cheer, my heart for a fleeting moment feels that you are near
In those times of laughter I forget my pain, but another rainy day is sure to call my name
The clouds are gray and lifeless, so now is my day, if I can but find you I shall get on my way
Why then Lord, I wonder, why for me this pain? What have I done to forfeit all your richest gain
Open your eyes now child, what now did you do? What indeed, but all that warrants death do you pursue
Oh’ this foolish child, aches because I choose to flow like a wayward river that is lost without a clue
My heart is hurt and broken only because I choose – to deny him the pleasure of fixing it anew
Take all that I am, ever ach and pain can be borne with pleasure in the prospect of this gain
Heaven and your smile, waits around the bend, now this foolish river will find true rest again

Could you Wait 100 Years?
By ~ Lydia Froemming

To day God gently whispered to my heart and asked me a question. Today, for the first time, I have a “true” perspective. While I was getting dressed this morning I was asked in a still small voice – “do you trust me?” Of course I answered, “Yes! Lord you know I trust you!” But the voice persisted, “Do you trust me enough to wait? To wait without knowing?” This time it was a little harder to answer, but I did, and the my response was from my heart, “I’ll wait Lord, I trust you enough to believe you know what is best for my life. You know how much I long to be married, but I trust you enough to wait.” Still the voice persisted, “Do you trust me enough to wait 100 years?” 100 years! You’ve got to be kidding, right? I mean, I’m already 19, in 100 years I’ll be 119 (if I even live that long) how am I supposed to enjoy being married, how am I supposed to have kids if I wait 100 years? I mean come on, don’t you think maybe God was pushing it a little too far? But again he whispered, “Do you trust me?” Weakly I responded, “Uh’ yeah, I guess so.” Again, that haunting question, “Do you trust me enough to wait 100 years?” Slowly I answered, I didn’t really want to but I knew I had to answer, and I knew what the answer would have to be, “Yes, Lord, yes I trust you with every part of my life, I trust you fully, I trust you enough to wait . . . to wait 100 years. In fact I trust you enough to wait 1000 years.” Then just to make sure God understood I whispered, “I trust you enough to wait 100 years, but I’d really rather not.” God answer was a surprise, “I didn’t say you would have to wait 100 years. I’m not promising you a husband now or ever. But I love you, and I am going to promise you a wedding.” A thrill went through my whole being; a picture was painted in my mind. In my mind’s eye I saw the bride of Christ, in all her glory – and I was there, I was a part of it. It was my wedding too. I would have a wedding, even if I had to wait 100 years.

“For thy Maker is thy husband; the Lord of hosts is his name; and thy redeemer the Holy one of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.” Isaiah 54:5

“Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honor to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.” Revelation 19:7

A Testimony of God's Faithfulness
By ~ Lydia Froemming & Dionne Fisher

This last weekend God did amazing things at the 19th Bright Lights Strong in the Lord Conference. We (Lydia & Dionne) had the opportunity to lead a small group of 14, 11-14 year old girls – it was an amazing experience. God taught us that when we are at our weakest, he is at his strongest, as it says in 2nd Corinthians 12:9-10 “My grace is sufficient for thee, for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly will I therefore rather glory in my infirmities that the power of Christ may rest upon me … for when I am weak, then am I strong.”

Friday night we were a little worried because our teams was quiet and unresponsive, two girls in particular seemed unhappy to be there. Saturday about ½ an hour before we left we saw the one girl smile and willingly join in the activities; the other girls also seemed to be enjoying herself more.

We were both tired and didn’t really know what to say but God gave us the wisdom and energy to carry on. It was very encouraging when two of the girls said that the small group was their favorite part of the conference. The moms also seemed to really appreciate what God was doing through our small group. We are so grateful God was able to use us this weekend, as vessels to share his love with the girls and moms.

We were driving home on 394/12 and suddenly we were on 94 west. Now how did that happen? We just didn’t know, it didn’t help that the roads were very snowy and the there was lots of wind. So Dionne called Lydia’s mom, who after several minutes was able to determine our location. After determining where we were, we were able to determine where we should have been, that is a good thing to know. After following a snow-plow with blinking lights, for forever, we had severe head-aches and tired eyes. 4 ½ hours after we left the conference we arrived safely at the Froemming home (with out blowing into the river.)

Praise the Lord for his faithfulness! J

Kirsten

Please be praying for a friend of mine, Kirsten Leach (in picture) was in a very bad head on collision about a week ago -- she is in critical but stable condition in a hospital in Tennessee. Her parents are strong Christians as is Kirsten, the first words out of her mouth after she woke up after the crash and her mom explained what had happened were "God is Good" -- wow! What an example! Kirsten is 20 years old and a college student in Tennessee, her family and mine were very close when we were younger but time and distance have created a gap so I have not seen kirsten in several years. I hope and pray that she will be able to completely recover, but if not I know that God is and will continue to work in and through her.

Blessings ~ Lydia

It's been a while since I updated this (about a month - yikes!) I'm not sure any body really even reads it but I enjoy randomly posting nonsense so it's good for me :-)

I've not been up to a whole lot, dishes, laundry and preparing speech lessons seem to consume my days (and nights). I have had a chance to do some reading, I finished "The Last Sin Eater",
"The Veil" and "To Have and to Hold" recently. All of them are GREAT books!

Our first speech tourny of the year was on Saturday (the 20th) it was a blast and I had the opportunity to judge for the first time -wow- what an experiance! It was fun but a challange. Our club was awsome here are their placings for any one who cares to know -
